Song in a quiet place

There was a scene in 'A Quiet Place' taken directly from 'The Office'

Whether that's information that A Quiet Place star, director and co-writer John Krasinksi was privy to is unclear. But as producer Andrew Form.

Sound design is a huge part of what makes any movie work, but it's the type of thing that a lot of filmgoers tend not to notice most of the time — unless they're watching a movie like A Quiet Place , in which a single family fights to survive in the midst of an alien horde that has conquered Earth through hunting by sound. It is, understandably, a singularly hushed horror film — but one rock classic still manages to make an appearance during a key scene. That song is — spoiler alert! I still have a little bit of tinnitus, but fortunately now I'm not as sensitive to loud sounds as I was for a year after the mixing of Weld ," Young told Mojo. I'm not sure what's going on, but the point is I can still hear well enough to get off on what I'm doing. There's still a lot of detail I can pick up.

In a genre filled with buzzing chainsaws, screaming teens, and explosive mayhem, the film managed to elicit feelings of extreme dread with a bare minimum of sound and scripting. In a rare respite from constant terror, John Krasinski and his real-life wife Emily Blunt , share a tender moment as Lee and Evelyn Abbott. When examining the song and its lyrics, the connection to themes explored in A Quiet Place become immediately apparent. Still, the folks at Flicks and the City have put together a video that explores the deepest subtexts of the song. Give it a spin and let us know what you think in the Comments section!

There's no doubt about it: A Quiet Place is easily one of the year's scariest movies. It's got everything: a real, mounting dread that grows with every scene, the potential for a sequel , and a tenacious family that's determined to survive. There's also one other special aspect of the film: the mother and father are played by real-life couple Emily Blunt and John Krasinski. With their genuine love playing out on-screen, these dual performances are all the more real and fizzle with an undeniable chemistry. That's what makes the film's one and only romantic scene that much more tender.

The Extreme Importance of the ONLY Song in “A Quiet Place”

Like the majority of people who saw A Quiet Place in theaters , I spent a lot of time squirming, screaming, and jumping in my seat. Most of the screams were because I was scared out of my mind, but one special outburst was because I truly felt John Krasinski was trying to give everyone a flashback to one of the sweetest moments in The Office. If you haven't seen the movie yet, let me paint you a quick picture of this scene that gave me MAJOR emotions. Blunt, who's wearing earbuds, appears behind Krasinski while he's working to make it clear she's in the mood to just be like a normal lovey-dovey husband and wife for a freaking minute. Understandable, Emily! John, being a nice and observant husband, picks up on her signal and leads her to the middle of the basement for a dance.

A Quiet Place Song

At first watch, the recently-released horror film doesn't appear to have much in common with Dunder Mifflin. In an effort to get him to take a break from the project he's working on, Evelyn gently pulls her husband to his feet and takes out one of her earbuds so he can listen to the song, too. The beloved comedy series, which aired in the United States between and , shows Krasinski's character Jim Halpert fall for the office secretary, Pam Beesly. The will-they-or-won't-they relationship between them captured the hearts of fans across the globe - and, as it turns out, the pair actually share a pretty similar and also very sweet headphone moment in the second season of the show. My favorite part of A Quiet Place was when John and Emily share headphones and dance in the basement.
